Book Now to Ensure Your Home is Ready

With the recent cold weather snap, it may seem like spring is far away. The truth is that the warmer temperatures will be here in less than five months. Before you know it, March showers will be thawing the ground to prepare for the growing season.

The most efficient and effective way for your landscaping to flourish is to take care of your lawn as soon as the last frost disappears. DiSabatino Landscaping is already booking clients for the spring season. Make sure you give us a call to get on the schedule before it fills up.

Spring clean-up work includes several essential items:

Clear Debris

After a long winter, fallen branches, piles of old leaves, and clumps of dirt may be strewn all over your lawn. Picking them up and disposing of them will help moisture and light get to your grass and plant root systems, ensuring better growth. Make sure all gutters and downspouts have been cleared of blockage from snow and ice. Check flower beds and shrubs for trash or piles of leaves.

Trim Away

Evaluate your trees and plants to see if you have dead or broken limbs, damaged branches, or dead shrubs. If you find any, make sure to prune them back according to the variety of plant. Make sure the shrub is not simply dormant, waiting to grow again when warmer temps arrive, before removing any branches. If you have any concerns, consult with a professional.

Give a Good Mow

This is likely the first time your yard has been mowed in months, so make sure you take your time. Don’t cut too low or aggressively trim back regrowth. If needed, add grass seed and fertilizer for bare patches. Make sure you water the seeds and any new plantings well, without oversaturating the plants.

Add Mulch

Once you’re cleared the base of plants and removed weeds, you can add to the mulch bed. Fresh mulch helps maintain moisture for vulnerable root systems thawing out, while helping keep weeds from growing. A trim mulch bed also makes your landscaping look polished.

Consider Special Touches

Now that you’ve cleaned up, it’s time for the fun part. Visit a nursery or landscaper and ask what you can do to enhance your property. Arbors, gates, and pergolas add beauty to your home. Surround them with colorful flowers or trailing ivy for instant curb appeal. The options for new outdoor features are endless!
